Strong, smart and brave women, throughout history, who dared to make a change, fight for their will, not give up and align with the social conventions that were customary at the time, brought women and society in general to tremendous progress in the field of women's status and rights.

Alice Miller, is one of those women who brought about a tremendous revolution in the field of the status of women.

On November 8, 1995, Alice Miller's petition was submitted to the High Court by the Association for Civil Rights and the Women's Lobby.
The High Court accepted the petition and ordered the IDF to equalize the rights of women to those of men.
Following the petition, various jobs were opened to women that had until then been closed to them, including a pilot course, a seamanship course, various courses in the Artillery Corps, the Israeli Air Force Air Force and the Border Police.
In 2000, section 16A was added to the Security Service Law, which was initiated by MK Naomi Hazan following the Alice Miller affair, and it establishes the principle that every woman has an equal right to a man in any military service, unless required by the nature and character of the position.

The amendment to the Security Service Law of January 2000 completed the High Court ruling in which they confirmed the right of female soldiers to volunteer for combat professions, which were determined by the Minister of Defense. Since the petition was received, women have been admitted to a pilot course, whose requirements have been tailored to their abilities.

Alice is an example of a woman who broke the glass ceiling. On a professional level she has managed to reach senior positions and also run a glorious community in Hukok, and on a personal level, running an exemplary family in parallel with her career. Thanks to her breakthrough, she is able to show other women that excellence can be strived for, without sacrificing family fulfillment.
